Dallas Season Two Set For DVD Release
The second series of TNT’s continuation of Dallas will be released on DVD in the UK later this year.
The oil and scandal drama was revived by TNT last year after more than twenty years off air. The broadcaster’s revival was a hit with returning stars Linda Gray, Patrick Duffy and Larry Hagman joined by new cast members including Brenda Strong, Jesse Metcalfe and Josh Henderson with Ken Kercheval also returning as Cliff Barnes; the age-old Barnes/Ewing feud was reignited.
The second season of Dallas continued the stories of the Ewing and Barnes family with new cast members such as Emma Bell and Judith Light. However, the death of Larry Hagman after filming just a handful of episodes put the future of the revival under doubt. Scripts were re-written at the last minute and a new ‘whodunnit’ was created; Who Killed JR? a nod to the original series’ “Who Shot J.R?”
The second series of Dallas once again saw the return of Charlene Tilton and Steve Kanaly with Audrey Landers, Joan Van Ark, Ted Shackelford, Deborah Shelton and Cathy Podewell also putting in appearances across the season. By the time the second series concluded J.R’s murderer had been revealed as had the fate of Pam Ewing (Victoria Principal) the first wife of Bobby (Patrick Duffy) and mother of Christopher (Jesse Metcalfe).
TNT has ordered a third season of Dallas which will air early in 2014. Fans are hopeful that more familiar faces from the drama’s past will be brought back for the new season.
The second series of Dallas will be released on DVD in the UK & Ireland on 7th October.
