Coronation Street to supplement Hayley storyline with online extras
The official Coronation Street website is launching new online content which will tie in with Hayley Cropper’s (Julie Hesmondhalgh) terminal cancer storyline.
Hayley’s Diary will launch on Monday 30 September and itv.com/Corrie reveals the project will offer visitors a unique insight into Hayley’s world as she carries out her wishlist of all the things she wants to do with husband Roy (David Neilson) to celebrate her life.
Follow Hayley’s journey as she overcomes childhood fears, encourages Roy to try out new experiences and realises lifelong ambitions. – itv
Three exclusive online scenes will see Hayley overcome her childhood fear of puppets with Roy’s help, go on a camping trip with a difference and revisit the boating lake where they shared their first kiss.
Meanwhile, Ellen Taylor – a writer for the ITV soap – has penned twelve “funny and moving” blogs in Hayley’s own words to run alongside the extra scenes between September 30th and mid October.
A series of uplifting photographs will accompany the blogs as we see Hayley do everything from teaching Roy to drive and letting go of 99 red balloons, to riding on the back of a Harley Davidson!
