Martine McCutcheon planning to relaunch music career

Martine McCutcheon - The One Show 2010Actress and singer Martine McCutcheon wants to relaunch her music career following a seven year battle with ill health and depression.

The former EastEnders star also told The Sun newspaper that she hopes to start a family in the near future. 37-year-old Martine told the tabloid how she has been coping with chronic fatigue syndrome ME and how she feels her early life has affected her health.

I love kids and this has made me realise I’d love to have children… I now know that I’ll be well enough to take care of them and be able to have  that choice but I just want to get myself and my body back to normal first

The Perfect Moment singer, who starred in BBC One’s EastEnders between 1995 and 1998 as Tiffany Mitchell, is planning a happy future with 29-year-old husband Jack McManus.

McCutcheon plans to relaunch her singing career which to date has racked up one number one hit single, five other UK top ten releases and a platinum album.

I still  really love what I do and despite everything, I have an extremely exciting  future ahead of me. I had a chance to miss it when I was lying there thinking, ‘I would love to  sing or write a song again’.

She also told The Sun that for a while she had ‘resented’ her career and the pressure of being in the public arena had become too much for her to handle. She also admitted that for a time she believed once out of the spotlight she would never return to the stage again.

I felt really guilty about that because I have been so blessed and lucky.

Currently Martine is working with her musician husband Jack on a new album and a comeback concert. The performer has been easing her way back into showbiz via radio, hosting a programme for Heart FM.
