Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Natalie Lowe will no longer participate in the forthcoming series, after fracturing her foot during training.
The 32-year-old Australian dancer is hoping to put in an appearance in this year’s Christmas special but for the main series – which kicks off with a launch show on September, 7 – she will be replaced by Aliona Vilani.
Lowe could, however, appear alongside the professional dancers at some point during the series.
“Not being able to compete with a celebrity partner is so hard,” Lowe told The Sun. “But this series is going to blow everyone away and I cannot wait to get my feet back on the dance floor.”
Vilani who came runner-up in 2010 with Matt Baker confirmed her place on Twitter.
And later said “My heart goes out to Natalie. I wish her a speedy recovery.”
Confirmed celebrities this year include broadcaster Vanessa Feltz and Countdown star Rachel Riley.
