Stephanie Flanders to leave BBC for JP Morgan

It’s a change of direction for Beeb news regular Flanders.

BBC economics editor Stephanie Flanders is leaving the corporation to join  JP Morgan Asset Management.

#Flanders, who has held the economics editor position since 2008, confirmed in her blog that she is joining one of the biggest financial institutions in the world as chief market strategist for the UK and Europe.

On her blog she wrote:

“It’s been an incredible time to be reporting on the UK and global economy.”

Since joining the BBC in 2002 she has worked on Newsnight and on BBC Radio 4. More recently she presented a money show on BBC Two.

The BBC has confirmed she is no longer economics editor with immediate effect but will continue presenting Radio 4’s Start The Week.
