Following his recent top ten singles chart success with his Loving You track, featuring Melanie C, Matt Cardle is to take to the stage tonight as part of the The Miss World 2013 celebrations.
Cardle has been personally invited by Julia Morley, Chairman Miss World Organisation, to sing at the event, which will be televised live from Jakarta, Indonesia, on September 28th to over 150 countries with a global audience in excess of 1 billion. Previous performers at the prestigious event include global superstar Enrique Iglesias and musical royalty Lionel Ritchie.
I’m so excited to have been asked to sing at The Miss World Final. If I’m honest, I’m trying not to think about the fact over a billion people will be watching! – Matt
In recent times the celebration of the female form has been deemed ‘sexist’ in the UK and dropped from mainstream television.
How silly. I don’t hear women complaining when they see men cavorting around in just a thong, equality is just that – both sexes can celebrate the human body and its beauty. – TV Critic Queenie
Matt Cardle’s new album ‘Porcelain’ will be released October 28th. Recorded in Los Angeles, New York and London, the album contains the current Top 10, self-penned single ‘Loving You’, Cardle’s duet with superstar Melanie C.
‘Porcelain’ is Matt Cardle’s third album, following his two Top 10 hit long-players ‘Letters’ (2011) and ‘The Fire’ (2012). The former X Factor star has sold over two million singles and albums combined, and has completed four sell-out UK tours in the past two years.
