National Autistic Society praise Big Brother’s Abz
Following Abz crowned runner up of Celebrity Big Brother 2013 last night The National Autistic Society have praised the singer for highlighting autism.
Abz Love revealed during the Channel 5 series that he has Asperger syndrome, a form of autism. He’s best known for being a member of the famous 90’s boy band 5ive.
Autism is a lifelong disability which affects the way a person communicates with, and relates to, others. It must have been really tough for Abz to go on a show which involves almost constant social interaction and he should be applauded for his achievement.
By revealing his diagnosis Abz has also played an important role in bringing issue of autism to the nation’s attention. Autism can have a profound and sometimes devastating effect on individuals and families, but public understanding and support can make a huge difference.” – Mark Lever, Chief Executive of the National Autistic Society
Runner up Love left the house to cheers from the audience. When interviewed by host Emma Willis, he said:
