Grant Gustin To Play The Flash In Arrow

Actor Grant Gustin has been cast as The Flash for the second season of The CW drama Arrow.

Entertainment Weekly report that Gustin will play Barry Allen, aka The Flash, in the second season of the hit drama. The character is described as a “Central City assistant police forensic investigator who arrives in Starling to look into a series of unexplained robberies that may have a connection to a tragedy in his past. A comic book fan boy, Barry is obsessed with the Arrow unaware that working with Oliver and Felicity to solve the crime has brought him right into the dangerous world of the vigilante”

The Flash will appear in three episodes of Arrow; episodes 8, 9 and 20. The characters appearance in Arrow is as an origin story and if audiences take to the character a spin-off is possible. It first emerged The CW were eying a spin-off from Arrow in the Summer around the same time it was revealed the broadcaster was looking to create a spin-off from Supernatural as well.

Grant Gustin’s most notable roles to date are playing Sebastian Smythe in Glee and Campbell Price in 90210.

Arrow returns to The CW on Wednesday 9th October.
