Strictly Come Dancing pulled in over 9 million viewers on Saturday evening while the start of BBC One‘s new fantasy drama Atlantis pulled nearly 6 million viewers.
Strictly Come Dancing proved to be a ratings hit for BBC One on Saturday evening drawing more viewers than ITV‘s the X Factor though the two shows did not directly clash with each other. Overnight figures reveal Saturday’s edition of Strictly pulled in 9.2 million viewers; that’s up from the 7.8 million who tuned in to the show on Friday evening. By comparison the X Factor pulled in 7.8 million viewers; the two shows only clashed for five minutes.
BBC One’s new fantasy drama Atlantis launched with impressive ratings as it aired against the X Factor. Atlantis is from the creators of Merlin and Misfits and gives a new twist to the legendary tale of the lost city. The new series kicked off with 5.6 million viewers a figure that’s bound to rise when final figures are released in ten days time.
