Lorraine Chase would make further Emmerdale return
Lorraine Chase has revealed that she would consider making further appearances in Emmerdale should the opportunity arise.
The actress makes a one-off return to the ITV soap as Steph Stokes in tonight’s episode when Steph returns for the funeral of her father Alan Turner (Richard Thorp).
Chase originally portrayed the role between 2002 and 2006 when the character was sent to prison for the murder of her brother Terence. Tonight’s episode sees Steph escape from her prison escort at Alan’s wake.
Appearing on ITV’s Lorraine earlier today, Chase explained that she left the ITV soap as she wanted to spend more time with friends and family in London including her father Charlie Parsons, who was suffering with health problems at the time. He passed away last year at the age of 80.
It was difficult for me because I had my dad when I was in Emmerdale and he was poorly then.
You do have to live up in Leeds – which was no problem, it was beautiful – but I just felt it was time to leave. But I’d like to go in and out, that would be lovely.
Chase also praised the soap following it taking home the Best Soap Prize at this year’s Inside Soap Awards:
It’s about time. It’s deserved it on several occasions, hasn’t it? They do deserve it.
Emmerdale airs tonight at 7.00pm on ITV/UTV/STV
