Ben Price signs new Coronation Street contract
Coronation Street star Ben Price has signed a new contract guaranteeing Nick Tilsley’s presence on the cobbles for at least another year.
The Daily Star Sunday reports that the 41 year old actor agreed the new deal last week following a meeting with producer Stuart Blackburn.
Nick is currently embroiled in a storyline exploring the long term effects of the brain injury he obtained in a dramatic car crash earlier this year.
The soap has been working with charity Headway on the hard-hitting storyline.
A spokesperson for the charity told the paper:
At Headway we have been advising Coronation Street and they are committed to being as accurate as possible by portraying the effects of a brain injury on the whole family.
The charity added that the storyline had prompted one woman to contact them for help when she recognised similarities between her husband and Nick.
Price joined the ITV soap in 2009 and is the third actor to play the role of Gail’s (Helen Worth) eldest with Warren Jackson and Adam Rickitt previously portraying the role.
