‘Late Night’ host Seth Meyers will host the 66th Emmy Awards in August, NBC confirm.

The network confirmed that Meyers, who began hosting ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’ in February, will host the annual TV awards show on Monday 25th August. The Emmy Awards are usually screened on a Sunday, but due to NBC’s commitments to broadcast NFL Sunday Night Football, the network has moved The Emmy’s to Monday.

NBC said that Seth’s experience in front of a live audience makes him the “perfect choice” to host the event. The Emmy Awards are screened by a different network each year, with the host being a personality from that network airing it. Last year, CBS comedy How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris hosted the prime time Emmy Awards, broadcast on CBS.
