John Simm to star in BBC Two drama series, Intruders

John Simm is to star in a new eight-part drama series for BBC Two.

Described as a paranormal mystery thriller, Intruders follows a secret society dedicated to pursuing immortality by seeking refuge in the bodies of others.

Simm will portray Jack Whelan, a former Los Angeles cop turned writer with a troubled past whose idyllic life with wife Amy (Mira Sorvino) is shattered when she goes missing. As Jack absorbs himself in locating his wife, he starts to question whether he really knew her at all.

Based on Michael Marshall Smith’s novel The Intruders, the series will be written and executive produced by Glen Morgan whose previous credits include The X-Files.

Starring alongside Simm and Sorvino in the drama that is expected to air this autumn on the beeb’s second channel will be James Frain, Tory Kittles and Millie Brown.
