Professional dancer Robin Windsor has been forced to withdraw from Strictly Come Dancing‘s forthcoming twelfth series.

The 34 year old who made his debut on the beeb’s entertainment hit in 2010 has said he is “devastated” to be pulling out of the show with a “pre-existing back injury”.

Windsor is to be replaced by a new face to the Strictly ballroom, Australian dancer Trent Whiddon who has appeared on the Australian and US versions of Dancing With The Stars throughout his career.

“I am so excited to have been asked to join Strictly. It’s such an honour to be a part of the show and I can’t wait to step onto the famous Strictly dancefloor!” – Whiddon

Trent will be one of three new professional dancers joining the cast of Strictly 2014, alongside Joanne Clifton and Tristan MacManus.

Joanne will be competing against her brother Kevin on the show, who made his Strictly pro debut during last year’s series when he was partnered with Susanna Reid. They are the first siblings to participate in the show.

Over the years, Joanne has won numerous awards and accolades and is five-time British Champion, European Professional Champion and recently, champion of the World Dancesport Games in Taiwan.

Irish born Tristan MacManus joins Strictly after three years as a professional dancer on Dancing With The Stars in America, where he most notably partnered Gladys Knight and Pamela Anderson.

Tristan began dancing his home of Bray, Co. Wicklow before competing around Europe, winning numerous juvenile, junior and amateur competitions. He has appeared in many successful stage shows including Dirty Dancing and Burn The Floor.
