Sky 1 announces Freddie Flintoff fronted project ‘Lord of the Fries’

Lord of the FriesFreddie Flintoff is to take to the roads in a mobile fish and chip shop for a new Sky 1 series.

Flintoff: Lord of the Fries will see the former cricketer team up with journalist and cycling fanatic Rob Penn as they takeĀ an eco-friendly chip van to various locations around the UK and Ireland.

The pair will begin their journey at a Lancastrian chippy within proximity of Flintoff’s childhood home before venturing to places such as Giant’s Causeway and Whitby.

Over the course of six episodes – to be produced by indie Plum Pictures – the duo will, among other activities, indulge in a spot of salmon fishing in Scotland and a surf of the Severn Bore in Somerset.

“We really liked the idea of twisting the tired British travelogue. Freddie, Rob and a mobile fish and chip van seemed like an irresistible combination.” – Executive Producer, Stuart Cabb

The series has been earmarked for the broadcaster’s mid-week 8.00pm slot, however exact transmission details areĀ still to be confirmed.
