Coronation Street announces two new male characters
Actors Sean Ward and Oliver Farnworth have joined the cast of Coronation Street.
Ward has already commenced filming with the soap in the role of Callum, Kylie Platt’s (Paula Lane) bad boy ex to whom she turns for answers over their son Max’s behavioural problems, which recently led to a diagnosis of ADHD. Reconnecting with Callum draws Kylie back to her old life and viewers will have to wait and see whether she can lay the past to rest once and for all.
“I am delighted to have been given this unique opportunity to join such a brilliant and much loved show. It is a great honour and it will be a professional challenge to play bad-boy Callum. I’m very much looking forward to working closely with Paula.” – Ward
Farnworth, who has previously appeared in Hollyoaks and Mr Selfridge, will be taking on the role of Michael Rodwell’s (Les Dennis) long-lost son, Gavin.
“I’m absolutely delighted to be joining the cast of Coronation Street. Having spent my childhood in the North, to be given the opportunity to return and work on such an iconic, popular TV show is a dream and feels like a natural homecoming. I can’t wait to tread the cobbles!” – Farnworth
Both characters will make their debuts in the coming months.
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV/STV/UTV
