Leigh Francis lands Keith Lemon sketch show
ITV2 is to screen The Keith Lemon Sketch Show.
The new show will be a fast paced blend of sketches and character comedy from the man behind Lemon – Leigh Francis. Leigh’s central performances will be supported by an ensemble cast comprising of up-and-coming talent plus numerous high-profile celebrity cameos and even his real-life mum.
“Keith’s unique and irrepressible take on the world is absolutely hilarious and the characters that he’s created will touch a chord with ITV2 viewers.” – ITV’s Commissioning Editor, Comedy Entertainment, Claire Zolkwer
The Keith Lemon Sketch Show was ordered for ITV2 by ITV’s Director of Digital Platforms and Acquisitions Angela Jain. Leigh has hosted comedy quiz show Celebrity Juice for the channel as well as, in more recent times, a revived version of Through The Keyhole for the main ITV network.
The new sketch series is expected to carry on his celebrity-focused formats with movie, television and star spoofs including This Morning, Loose Women and various other daytime programming. This will be mixed with new characters and none-celebrity situations.
Leigh Francis previously brought to live a host of rubber faced celebrities for Channel 4’s Bo Selecta. Famous names spoofed by Francis included Lorraine Kelly, Michael Jackson, Craig David and Scary Spice.
ITV have yet to reveal a broadcast date for Lemon’s latest telly vehicle.
