Strictly Come Dancing

Former rugby union player Thom Evans is the fourth celebrity confirmed for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.

Thom’s participation in the show was confirmed by the official @bbcstrictly Vine account, on which a clip has gone live showing him selecting a glitter ball over a rugby ball.

“I’m so happy to be doing the show, I cannot wait to get started. I’m really looking forward to my Strictly makeover – bring on Strictly and bring on the spandex!” – Thom

Throughout his professional rugby career, Thom represented Scotland at International level winning ten caps – as well as serving stints with the London Wasps and Glasgow Warriors, where he held the record for most tries scored.

Since his retirement from the sport, the 29 year old has been focussing on modelling and acting projects.

The first three celebrities confirmed for this year’s Strictly were The Saturday’s Frankie Bridge, tennis coach Judy Murray and This Morning‘s showbiz reporter Alison Hammond.

In today’s The Sun, actor Jake Wood has also been touted for a stint on the show, however the EastEnders star’s participation is yet to be confirmed by the beeb.
