Lee Nelson invades Stereo Kicks’ X Factor performance
Comedian Lee Nelson was bundled off stage last night after gatecrashing a performance by Stereo Kicks.
The eight-piece boy band were performing Michael Jackson’s ‘You Are Not Alone’ when the prankster made his way to the stage and pretended to be a member of the band. Louis Walsh, who mentors the group, and Simon Cowell stood up shocked at what was happening. Simon latter quipped about the show’s security.
Nelson later tweeted “There are so many of them I thought anyone could have a go.” The comedian and prankster has gained notoriety over recent years for similar invasions. Lee Nelson, real name Simon Brodkin, was arrested earlier this year as he tried to board a flight with the England football team.
During the live final of Britain’s Got Talent in 2013, Simon Cowell was pelted with eggs when violist Natalie Holt got up from her seat during Richard and Adam’s live performance.
Last night’s X Factor was watched by 8.0 million viewers at 8.00pm as the acts sang hits from music legends Queen and Michael Jackson. The figures were up on last week as the show didn’t face a clash with rival Strictly Come Dancing. The BBC One dancing contest still won the night with 9.37 million viewers
