Jacqueline Leonard joins Coronation Street

Lorraine, EastEndersJacqueline Leonard has joined the cast of Coronation Street.

The seasoned soap actress has taken on the role of Katy and Izzy’s estranged mum, Linda, who will be seeking to remedy her relationships with her daughters upon her arrival in Weatherfield.

After hearing stories about their mum from their dad, Katy and Izzy are reluctant to give Linda the time of day until it becomes apparent that Owen has been economical with the truth.

Producer Stuart Blackburn added that “Linda’s arrival will have a devastating affect on how Owen’s family see him and he’ll have the fight of his life to hold on to everyone and everything he holds dear. The sins of the father really will visit Owen’s children.”

Linda will make her first appearance on the cobbles in February.

Leonard has previously had roles in Peak PracticeDoctors, River City and Hollyoaks, however; the actress is probably best known for her mid 1990s portrayal of Lorraine Wicks in EastEnders.
