Hollyoaks star Danny Mac to depart soap after four years

Danny Mac is leaving Hollyoaks at the end of his contract.

The actor has decided to move on from his role of Mark ‘Dodger’ Savage, citing a desire to explore new acting projects as the reason. Bosses at the Channel 4 saga have reportedly lined up an “explosive exit” for the character who first appeared in 2011.

Dodger has been at the centre of powerful drama in recent weeks after finding out that he is the father of his twin sister Sienna’s (Anna Passey) daughter Nico (Persephone Swales-Dawson), following an historical one night stand during which he had been oblivious to Sienna’s identity.

Sienna has developed an obsession with Dodger who is also torn between Maxine Minniver (Nikki Sanderson) and Theresa McQueen (Jorgie Porter). Airing early next year, Dodger’s final storyline will see him forced to choose between the women in his life with dramatic consequences.
