The X Factor: Only The Young out first in double elimination

Only The Young have been voted out of The X Factor.

The four-member group were eliminated from the competition in tonight’s Elton vs. Whitney themed show after receiving insufficient votes from the public.

Their earlier performance of Elton John’s Something About the Way You Look Tonight had been praised by the judges.

“We’re just so grateful for everyone that’s kept us in the competition so far [and] all the people that work on the show. Thank you so much. This is not the end of Only The Young.” – Only The Young

Their mentor Louis Walsh added “They’re on the X Factor tour, they just need a record deal, they’re great, great kids to work with.”

Tonight’s show also featured a performance of What I did For Love by David Guetta and Emeli Sandé.

Having been frozen for tonight’s vote-count the lines have now reopened for tomorrow’s results show which airs at 8.00pm on ITV and will see a further contestant exit the competition.
