“The whole experience has been an absolute dream. I never would’ve thought I’d get this far ever. I just want to thank all the general public at home for keeping me in and voting each week, and the lovely judges.” – Stevi
Tonight’s results programme saw Stevi and Andrea Faustini sing for survival after gaining the fewest number of votes from the public. In the sing off Stevi sang This Is the Moment, while Andrea performed Stop! by Sam Brown.
After each act had performed the judges delivered their verdicts:
Mel B [Andrea’s mentor]: “You two are miles apart and the one at the top is Andrea. I’m sending Stevi home.”
Cheryl Fernandez-Versini: “I love you both for different reasons. Andrea, you’ve been one of the most consistently perfect singers we’ve had, I think ever, on The X Factor. Stevi you sang beautifully but I have to be truly honest… The act that I have to send home tonight is Stevi.”
Simon Cowell [Stevi’s mentor]: “You both sang well but Stevi, you know for me, you are the one who showed the most passion. I was given you as a wild card [and] you’ve been so much fun to work with over the past few weeks. I’m going to stand by Stevi. I’m going to send home Andrea.”
Louis Walsh: “Guys that was a brilliant sing off. Stevi, I didn’t know you could sing that good that was your best performance for me by a mile but from day one I’ve loved Andrea. The act I’m sending home is Stevi.”
Tonight’s results show also featured performances by Labrinth with new single Jealous, and Take That who performed These Days.
Last night Only The Young became the tenth act to depart the competition in the first of this weekend’s two eliminations.
The X Factor continues next Saturday at 8.00pm on ITV.
