Text Santa

The total raised by Text Santa 2014 currently stands at a record-breaking £6.2 million.

Donations have continued to pour in since December’s star-studded appeal show which was hosted by Ant & Dec, Phillip Schofield, Christine Bleakley, Paddy McGuiness and Alesha Dixon.

“Text Santa is such a great appeal and this year the British public have surpassed previous efforts with this amazing total.  We love being involved with Text Santa, and this year we are delighted that each of the UK charities will receive over £1 million.” – Ant & Dec

The appeal show boasted a Downton Abbey short with Hollywood superstar George Clooney; members of McBusted facing a Bushtucker trial; Alesha, Paddy and Keith Lemon beating The Cube and Mel B appearing in Coronation Street. Olly Murs and X Factor winner Ben Haenow provided musical performances.

Phillip Schofield’s fundraising efforts saw him present live on television for 24 hours.

“What a result! I enjoyed every moment of the 24 hour Text Santa challenge this year and it’s great to see it paying off, helping to achieve the highest total ever at over £6.2m.” – Phillip Schofield

The money is to be distributed between six chosen charities: Alzheimer’s Society, Guide Dogs, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Teenage Cancer Trust, Together for Short Lives and WellChild. Each charity will receive a cheque for more than £1,000,000.

The total raised by Text Santa since its launch in 2011 now stands at £21,000,000+.

Donations are still being accepted for Text Santa until 31st January and can be made online or at any Santander branch.
