New look Thunderbirds characters revealed

Thunderbirds ITCITV has released a preview of the reimaged Tracy brothers from Thunderbirds Are Go, a remake of 1960s puppet series Thunderbirds.

The action packed revival has been produced using a unique mix of CGI animation and live-action model sets to deliver a new level of action-adventure animation whilst also paying tribute to the phenomenon of the original (pictured above) which was produced by AP Films for ATV from 1965 to 1966. In total two series were made with 32 hour-long episodes produced. Two feature-length film sequels to ThunderbirdsThunderbirds Are Go and Thunderbird 6 – were released in 1966 and 1968. A less successful Japanese anime series entitled Thunderbirds 2086 was produced in 1982.

Other star voices will include Kayvan Novak as inventor Brains and Thomas Brodie-Sangster voicing John Tracy.

The major new children’s series – a co-production between ITV Studios and Pukeko Pictures in association with world-famous Weta Workshop is set to debut internationally in Spring 2015 in the UK exclusively on ITV and CITV.

The new look boys, seen below, features the brothers Scott, Virgil, Alan, Gordon and John in front of their home; the exotic Tracy Island.
