Channel 4 has commissioned betty to make a fifth series of The Undateables.

The critically-acclaimed programme will return to the broadcaster’s schedules next year with five new instalments following extraordinary singletons on their quest to find love. It will also include a catch up to see how previous daters love lives have progressed.

“The Undateables is a Channel 4 series through and through, and its universal theme of love continues to see viewers engage with disability. We are all extremely proud of its legacy with proposals and weddings.” – Lucy Leveugle, Channel 4

Kathleen Larkin of betty adds of the re-commission: “We are delighted to be making the fifth series of The Undateables and we are extremely proud of the show. It provides an honest portrayal of love and dating through the experiences of those living with a disability and has challenged misconceptions.”

The first episode of the in-progress series four on 5 January consolidated to an average audience of 3.2 million, and with 31,000+ tweets was Channel 4’s most tweeted about show that week.

The current run features the first Undateables wedding with Brent and Challis tying the knot, the first baby and an engagement.
