ITV2 commissions third series of The Job Lot
ITV2 has enlisted Big Talk Productions to make a third series of The Job Lot.
The sitcom following the personnel of a Midlands-based job centre will re-enter production this spring. Sarah Hadland will return as highly strung manager, Trish, alongside Russell Tovey as her favourite member of staff, Karl.
“The Job Lot is a brilliantly sharp comedy and we’re really pleased to have it back for a third series. Its style of humour and wonderfully observed cast of characters fits perfectly on the channel alongside our other scripted comedies.” – ITV Director of Digital Channels and Acquisitions, Angela Jain
The second series ended with Karl finally getting together with sexy deputy manager Natalie (Laura Aikman). Series 3 will explore the difficulties faced by the couple as they try to conduct their relationship while sharing a workplace.
Also returning for the third series are horrible Angela (Jo Enright) security guards Janette (Angela Curran) and Paul (Martin Marquez) and terminally work-shy Bryony (Sophie McShera).
“We’re really happy to bring back this delightfully warm comedy set in a Midlands job centre. The scripts are yet again superbly written as we catch up with our favourite characters.” – ITV Comedy Commissioner, Saskia Schuster
