Madonna insists ‘she’s fine’ after fall at The Brits

The Queen of Pop was the star of the Brit Awards on Wednesday evening after her dramatic fall from stage.

Madonna was in attendance at the Brit Awards last night where she performed for the first time in 20 years. It was likely to be a memorable just for that. However a serious ‘wardrobe malfunction’ caused Madonna to be pulled backwards off the stage.

Performing her new single ‘Living for Love’, Madonna failed to undo her cape which she was wearing for her entrance. Her backing dancers pulled the cape, not realising that it was still attached to the 56-year-old legend. Proving what a pro she is, Madonna got back up on her feet and carried on with the performance.

Clips of her dramatic fall quickly spread online and the story of Madonna’s incident quickly became news around the globe. Madonna later put up a message on Instagram, including an image of the cape of misery.

“Armani hooked me up! My beautiful cape was tied too tight! But nothing can stop me and love really lifted me up! Thanks for your good wishes! I’m fine!” – Madonna

Madonna received an overwhelming flood of support online, praising her recover and strength to carry on with the performance. An average of 5.8 million people tuned in to ITV last night to watch the Brit Awards, hosted this year by Ant and Dec. The overnight figure is up 1 million on last year’s outing, which was presented by James Corden.

The Brits had more than 2 million Tweets last night, peaking at Madonna’s fall near the end of the show.
