Channel 4 has enlisted Twenty Twenty Productions to produce 24 new instalments of its popular observational format, First Dates.

The series uses fixed-rig filming to observe the initial interaction between individuals at a unique restaurant, in which every diner is on a real blind date.

“We made a number of subtle but significant improvements to the format last series and they paid off with 50% more viewers coming to the First Dates restaurant. With a bigger fourth season order, we have the chance to continue to build this show.” – CEO at Twenty Twenty, Tim Carter

Singletons are currently being sought to appear on the programme and can apply at www.channel4.com/firstdates.

The order takes the award-winning series into its fourth year on the broadcaster, with episodes due to begin airing later this year. The second series won Best Dating TV Show at the UK Dating Awards 2014.
