Ainsley Harriott confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing 2015

Ainsley Harriott will be a contestant on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.

The cooking personality and presenter confirmed his participation this evening (11 August) during a live appearance on The One Show.

“I must admit that I do love to dance, but doing it in front of the nation is a whole different matter! In my day job the only type of Salsa I know about is the one in my recipes so I am looking forward to rising to the challenge, bring it on!” – Ainsley Harriott

Ainsley has been a fixture on British Television for over 20 years but is probably best known for presenting the long-running BBC cookery competition Ready, Steady, Cook. The past two decades have seen him travel the world, making television series for the UK, the US and South Africa including Ainsley’s Barbeque Bible, Ainsley’s Meals in Minutes, and 50 Things To Eat Before You Die.  Ainsley has most recently been fronting his own series about street food, Ainsley Harriott’s Street Food on More4.

Alongside his TV career, Ainsley is also a No.1 bestselling author who has sold more than two million books worldwide, with co-editions in Dutch, Danish, Slovenian, Romanian and American.

He is the second celebrity to be confirmed for this year’s series after Jeremy Vine announced his involvement on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show yesterday.
