Katie Derham is fifth celebrity confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing 2015
The BBC has announced TV and radio presenter Katie Derham as the fifth confirmed celebrity for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
“Strictly Come Dancing is a national treasure, and I’m extremely excited to be part of such a wonderful show. I spend hours admiring professional musicians and performers at the Proms and at BBC Radio 3, so I’m thrilled to have the chance to throw myself into an equally demanding and beautiful world. It will be a totally new experience for me, and I can’t wait to get going.” – Katie Derham
At the age of 27, Katie became the youngest ever national newsreader on British television. She has hosted The Classic BRIT Awards and learned to conduct on the BBC show Maestro. Katie is well known as a presenter of the BBC Proms and also hosts primetime magazine show Proms Extra in addition to her regular show, Radio 3’s Afternoon On 3.
Katie joins actresses Georgia May Foote and Kellie Bright, TV chef Ainsley Harriott, and presenter and journalist Jeremy Vine in the line-up for this year’s series which starts on BBC One next month.
