Peter Andre is the seventh celebrity confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing 2015

The BBC has announced Peter Andre as a contestant on this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing.

“Strictly Come Dancing is an incredible show. I’ve always loved watching it on TV and to be honest I’m flattered to have been asked to take part before, but due to certain work commitments was unable to. I now feel the time is right to give it a go – everything has just clicked into place to do it this year. Wish me luck please… argh!!” – Peter Andre

The singer and television personality found fame in the 1990s with chart-topping singles Mysterious Girl and Flava. He later appeared on the third series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2004 where he met wife-to-be Katie Price. Their high-profile relationship became the subject of a number of fly-on-the-wall series for ITV2. Following their split five years later, Peter continued to star in reality projects for the channel as well as taking on presenting roles including ITV’s 60 Minute Makeover and Sunday Scoop.

Peter is the seventh celebrity confirmed for this year’s series and joins weather presenter Carol Kirkwood, TV and radio presenter Katie Derham, actresses Georgia May Foote and Kellie Bright, TV chef Ainsley Harriott, and presenter and journalist Jeremy Vine in the line-up.

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One next month. Further participants will be announced in due course.
