Two Doors Down returns with Elaine C Smith, Jamie Quinn and Harki Bhambra joining the cast

BBC Two is returning to Latimer Crescent, as filming gets under way for a full series of Two Doors Down – the beeb sitcom which first aired as a New Year’s special.

Elaine C Smith best known as Rab’s long suffering wife in BBC Two Scotland comedy Rab C Nesbitt joins the cast along with Doctor Who actress Harki Bhambra and Bluestone 42’s Jamie Quinn.

Elaine C Smith is to play Christine, a slightly overbearing and demanding neighbour. Jamie Quinn is playing Ian, the son of one of the main families in the street, and Harki Bhambra is playing Ian’s boyfriend Jaz. They will join the previously seen cast of Arabella Weir, Alex Norton, Doon Mackichan, Jonathan Watson and Sharon Rooney.

Written by Gregor Sharp and Simon Carlyle the series, which explores the best and worst of family life, has begun filming this week in locations around Glasgow as well as in BBC Scotland’s Dumbarton studios. It is expected to air in early 2016.
