Sony TV

Sony Pictures Television announced today that it is launching a brand new UK channel, True Crime, on Tuesday 22nd March. Available on Freeview channel 60, True Crime will host back-to-back crime related programming, making it the platform’s only dedicated crime channel.

Hosting a schedule packed with gripping real life stories, unexpected murder mysteries and law-breaking action, True Crime will be the home to shows including Deadly Women, Crime 360, The Devil You Know and The 9/11 Faker. Additional well-known favourites such as Caught on Camera, Dog the Bounty Hunter and Paternity Court will also have a home on the channel, making up a schedule that allows viewers to get closer to the scene of the crime than ever before.

“True Crime is all about true life crime stories and investigations. It’s dedicated to the crime genre and for viewers who are fascinated by true life stories. It’s a first for the Freeview platform and the True Crime launch further builds on the success of our overall Freeview channel portfolio, marking SPT’s continued investment in the UK broadcast market.” – Kate Marsh, Executive Vice President, Western Europe, International Networks

True Crime is the latest addition to the ‘True’ channel portfolio and will sit alongside True Entertainment (and +1), True Movies 1, True Movies 2 and True Drama. Sony Pictures Television’s worldwide networks portfolio includes 150 channel feeds available in 178 countries, reaching more than 1.3 billion cumulative households worldwide.

True Crime will be available on Freeview 60, Sky 185 and Freesat 143.
