ITV extend Loose Women for summer series

Loose Women 2015

ITV’s Loose Women is to remain on air across the summer in 2016.

“Loose Women is on such good form at the moment that it seems a shame to take it off for the summer. Instead, it will now follow the same pattern as our other morning shows by continuing through the holidays.” – Director of ITV daytime Helen Warner

Loose Women celebrated on air today as the show revealed it will not take its traditional summer break this year after ratings grew by 5% year-on-year. The ITV Studios weekday format, which airs for an hour from 12.30pm, has grown its audience to 982,000 (14.3%) for the year-to-date, up from the 932,000 (13.5%) who tuned in over the same period in 2015.

As a result the show will air for an extra 26 episodes during July and August.

Announcing the news at the end of the show with a glitter-cannon finale, Ruth Langsford said:

“I can reveal that this year there will be no summer break for the Loose Women, we will be remaining on screens right up until the end of the year! Isn’t that good news? Go on that deserves a cannon!”
