Hollyoaks: Rachel Adedeji joins, Jamie Lomas reprises his role of Warren Fox

Lisa Loveday Hollyoaks

Rachel Adedeji, a finalist on ITV’s search for a singer series The X Factor in 2009, is joining the cast of Hollyoaks.

Rachel, who has starred in Thriller and Jesus Christ Superstar in the West End, will make her debut in the Channel 4 soap in April playing the ‘real’ Lisa Loveday. Simone and Louis have hitherto been unaware that the girl (Sonia played by Kiza Deen) who entered their lives last year purporting to be their lost daughter is an imposter.

After years searching for their missing daughter, the Lovedays are in for a shock when this loud, sassy party animal lands on their doorstep. A force to be reckoned with, she is back to claim the family that is rightfully hers and will take delight in finding her name on everyone’s lips in Hollyoaks.

“I am so excited to have joined Hollyoaks and be part of the Loveday family who are brilliant actors and already feel like an extension of my own family! It is quite a pressure to be coming in as the real Lisa Loveday as she is such an anticipated arrival in Hollyoaks village.

“I think it’s fair to say that the audience have hoped that we would at some point get to meet the real Lisa and although I can’t say too much, the fallout is big and far-reaching. What has happened to Lisa so far in her life has turned her into a tough cookie and it has been great to bring that to life on screen.” – Rachel Adedeji

Warren Shower

Bosses have also confirmed that memorable villain Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) is returning to the Chester based serial, initially turning up in somebody’s shower. A spokesperson said: “Hollyoaks can confirm Warren Fox will be making a full-time return to Hollyoaks village. We are not revealing whose shower he is going to turn up in and whether he is cleaning up his act or washing away his sins.”

Since his first appearance in 2006, Warren has been involved in drug dealing, murder and the ‘Who Pushed Clare’ mystery storyline. The character was last seen in 2011 when he was arrested for the murder of Louise Summers on their wedding day in 2008 after being double-crossed by lover Mitzeee.

Lomas originally quit the role in 2009 but was lured back the following year by then producer Paul Marquess to the surprise of fans after bad boy Warren had seemingly perished in a fire at the loft. When Warren returns this summer he’ll no doubt come face to face with former lover Mercedes McQueen and sister of the partner who betrayed him, Maxine Blake.

“I am absolutely delighted to be returning to Hollyoaks, Warren Fox is a character I relish playing, and working with my good friend Bryan Kirkwood again will be a pleasure. Warren has been away for a number of years, so it’s like starting with a blank canvas.  Hollyoaks fans both old and new, will get to see Warren back to his old tricks very soon.” – Jamie Lomas

Executive Producer Bryan Kirkwood added: “Jamie Lomas’ wickedly irresistible creation Warren Fox is one of Hollyoaks’ all-time greatest villains and leading men. I couldn’t be happier to see Warren come home to Chester to create more havoc, settle some old scores and find new love with at least one of our leading ladies. Jamie is a much loved member of the Hollyoaks family and we’re delighted to have him back on set.”

Lindsey Silas Hollyoaks

Fans can catch a glimpse of Rachel Adedeji and Jamie Lomas in a new Hollyoaks trailer released today which also teases further story developments this spring including an alliance between serial killers Silas Blissett (Jeff Rawle) and Lindsey Roscoe (Sophie Austin).

It was reported over the weekend that Sophie Austin is leaving the role of Lindsey and has already filmed her final scenes for the soap. Lindsey first appeared in 2013 and was unmasked as the Gloved Hand Killer as part of the show’s 20th anniversary storylines last October.

“When I thought Lindsey couldn’t possibly meet her match along comes Silas Blissett. The scenes I’ve been shooting with Jeff are some of the most tense I’ve ever filmed. All I will say is I’ve been filming a lot with Jen Metcalfe, who plays Mercedes, and she has unfinished business with Silas. It’s very exciting and comes to a climax over the next few months.” – Sophie Austin speaking to the Daily Star Sunday

The trailer also teases the arrival of the Donovan brothers who are set to cause a stir as they descend on the village, no doubt giving their half-sister Grace Black the shock of her life.
