Star line up for ITV’s celebrations for The Queen’s 90th Birthday revealed

ITV celebrating The Queen’s 90th birthday with celebrities would instantly make you think of names such as Ant and Dec, Simon Cowell, Keith Lemon and Phillip Schofield. But, no the ITV regulars are not the focus of this nine-decade celebration of the big royal one – even if Ant and Dec are the hosts.

The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration, will broadcast live on ITV later this spring. Lucky royalists everywhere will be waving their Union Jacks with vigor at the news. This national celebratory event will take place in the presence of Her Majesty The Queen in the private grounds of Windsor Castle and will see the best of British talent join more than 900 horses and 1500 participants for what promises to be a spectacular evening.

The celebration will tell the story of The Queen’s remarkable life from her birth in 1926, through World War Two, to her Coronation in 1953 and a reign spanning more than 60 years.

Joining hosts Ant and Dec will be Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, actor and British tenor Alfie Boe, Star Warsleading man John Boyega, singer songwriter James Blunt and one of Britain’s best loved actors, Jim Carter.

Also performing will be multi Brit Award nominee Jess Glynne, mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins OBE, one of Britain’s greatest soul singers Beverley Knight MBE, three times Brit Award winner Kylie Minogue OBE, documentary film maker and actor Martin Clunes OBE, and Golden Globe and Emmy winning actor Damian Lewis OBE.

Academy Award winning actress Dame Helen Mirren, Absolutely Fabulous creator, comedian and actress, Jennifer Saunders, stage and screen actress Imelda Staunton CBE and presenter and horticulturalist Alan Titchmarsh MBE will also participate in this landmark celebration.

This array of stars will take to the stage whilst performers in the arena will include The Oman Royal Cavalry, Chilean Huasos and Dancers, The New Zealand Army Band, The Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Azerbaijani Dancers and Djigitovka Horses and Riders, State Carriages from The Royal Mews, The South Australian Police Band, The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, The Fijian Armed Forces Band and Dancers, 100 Military and Commonwealth Pipers and The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment.

The programme is to be produced by ITV Studios (Granada) and Spun Gold Television. The event has been arranged by the organising team behind Royal Windsor Horse Show.
