Queen’s Birthday: Will She Make Way For Charles This Year? Honours For Becks, Adele And Ranieri?

With the Queen celebrating her 90th birthday this week, William Hill are offering odds of 6/1 that she abdicates the throne during 2016. Should she do so, Prince Charles is the 1/4 favourite to be crowned the next Monarch with Prince William 11/4.

“The Queen has reached an impressive milestone and she may wish to spend a few years away from her monarchical duties and enjoy somewhat of a retirement,” – William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

With the Queen’s official birthday still a few weeks away, Britain’s biggest bookmaker are looking into who could be made knights or dames in the honours list in June. Andy Murray is a 6/1 shot with both David Beckham and Mark Rylance 10/1 shots. The outsiders include both Adele and Claudio Ranieri at 20/1 and Mary Berry at 50/1.

“Murray and Beckham have been in the discussions for quite some time now given the positive attention they have garnered in their respective fields although Adele and Claudio Ranieri could well be considered outside chances given the incredible 12 months they have both enjoyed,” – William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
