Hollyoaks Social Live show reveals latest gossip from the Channel 4 saga
Channel 4’s flagship, well only actually, soap opera Hollyoaks has broadcast a live entertainment show.
#HollyoaksSocialLive aired on the shows official Facebook page with exclusive casting announcements, interviews, games and gossip – leaving fans beside themselves with the gossip overload.
In the special online programme Kieron Richardson talked about becoming a new dad, while Gary Lucy and Sarah Jayne Dunn discussed their return to the Lime Pictures production.
“I’ve got a lot of fun memories from my time at Hollyoaks – It feels like being home. It’s been fun being back on set with Ashley Taylor Dawson and bringing Luke and Darren back together. It’s also great to hear that Sarah Jayne is coming back, I’m sure Luke and Mandy’s paths will cross.” – Gary Lucy
Presented by former cast member and comedian, James Redmond (Finn) and DJ/presenter, Ashley James, The Hollyoaks Social aired live from the Hollyoaks set in Liverpool and featured current cast members, Kieron Richardson, Anna Passey, Jessica Fox, Jessica Ellis, Malique Thompson-Dwyer, Jacob Roberts and Adam Woodward.
There was also official confirmation that Gary Lucy will be returning as Luke Morgan after fifteen years away, and that Sarah Jayne Dunn will reprise her role as Mandy Richardson.
Sarah Jayne’s return was revealed in a ‘guess who’s back?’ game, which also featured fellow former cast members, Jessica Forrest (Leanne) and Helen Noble (Abby Davies).
“It’s so nice being back. I’m so thrilled with what’s going to be going on with the character and I can’t wait for people to see it. I started filming a couple of weeks ago so I’ve bedded back in.” – Sarah Jayne Dunn
New dad, Kieron Richardson (Ste) who only welcomed his twins, Chase and Phoebe two weeks ago (22nd May) showed off his parenting skills in number of baby shower inspired games such as the ‘Nappy Challenge’, ‘Baby Food Test’ and guessing which cast member the baby photo is of. He also gave his first interview about the new arrivals:
“We had the books, went on the internet and searched every single name possible and we went to a chicken restaurant the other week and [their names] were decided in a chicken restaurant. Chase and Phoebe are quite good sleepers so it’s not been too bad. Chase has weed nearly in my mouth!”
Meanwhile, Anna Passey (Sienna), Jessica Ellis (Tegan) and Jessica Fox (Nancy) were given a British Soap Awards make over challenge to get a shocked Jess Ellis red carpet ready after being drenched by the ‘rain’ (a bucket of water over her head by Jacob Roberts). They also discussed their ‘hot’ or ‘not’ from previous red carpet looks and teased their outfits for tomorrow night’s British Soap Awards.
As well as exclusive cast interviews, there was also a nod to Hollyoaks’ recent trip to Ibiza #IbizaOaks with newcomers, Adam Woodward (Brody) and Jacob Roberts (Damon) chilling topless in the outdoor hot tub, Malique Thompson-Dwyer (Prince) raving away to a silent disco through his headphones and various other cast members enjoying the somewhat wetter than Ibiza weather outside Lisa’s Loveboat.
Ashley James will rejoin the Hollyoaks cast to interview them live on the red carpet at the British Soap Awards tomorrow night (Saturday 3 June). This interview will again be broadcast on Hollyoaks’ official Facebook page.
