Tiffani Thiessen signs up to appear in Alexa and Katie

Tiffani Thiessen is to join the cast of Alexa and Katie.

Tiffani joins the programme as Lori the determined and protective mother of one of the lead characters. The comedy follows two lifelong best friends eagerly anticipating the start of their freshman year of highschool. The friends confront a crisis that leaves them feeling like outsiders, at a time when what seems to matter most is fitting in.

Alexa and Katie stars Paris Berelc and newcomer Isabel May play the title characters respectively. The series was created by Heather Wordham. The first series, in production, will run for thirteen episodes and is to premiere on Netflix next year.

Tiffani Thiessen is best known for her roles in NBC’s Saved By The Bell, from 1989 to 1993 and in Fox TV’s Beverly Hills, 90210 from 1994 to 1998. Other performances include in series such as  Fastlane, What About Brian and White Collar. Movie appearances include Son in Law (1993), Shriek If You Know What I Did Last Friday the Thirteenth (2000), Hollywood Ending (2002) and Cyborg Soldier (2008).
