First ever Pride Improv Festival to be held in London

The Pride Improv Festival is to take place next month.

The Free Association and Zeal Improv have come together to partner the event.

“We take diversity in comedy very seriously, and are proud to be partnering with Zeal Improv on what we hope is the first of many Zeal Pride Improv Festivals. The FA has made it our mission to build and champion a supportive community. In improv, there are no set rules or judgements – you can be whoever or whatever you like on stage and off. Your decisions will be accepted, supported and celebrated.” – The FA’sFounder & Director, Graham Dickson

The FA will be hosting a special edition of their hit show, Jacuzzi , as part of The Pride Improv Festival London on Saturday 1st July at The Free Association with special guest monologist and cabaret comic, Luke Meredith.

Jacuzzi  is The FA’s regular Saturday night improv show, featuring knockout improvisers from the theatre, performing alongside a special guest monologist, for an hour of spontaneous hilarity. The FA’s players include members from renowned improv, sketch and comedy groups Austentatious, Massive Dad, Max and Ivan, alongside the next generation of the UK’s best improvisers. The FA will also be taking the Jacuzzi show up to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this August.

The FA host upwards of 300 live comedy events a year, featuring some of the best upcoming talent and improvisers in the UK. They also offer content creation for ad agencies, brands, production companies and businesses. Channel 5 comedy Borderline was created and produced by The FA’s Mike Orton-Toliver and Chris Gau, and The FA were commissioned by Harper Collins Publishers to create this Word of the Year sketch.

The improv school now teaches over 1000 students a year and provides improvisational training to boost confidence and enhance communication skills, alongside comedy sketch writing courses with TV’s Dawson Bros (Walliams and Friend, Saturday Night Takeaway).

The FA’s improv training is also infiltrating the corporate sphere, with the school offering bespoke workshops to a whole host of companies to boost confidence, listening, mental agility, flexibility, public speaking and communication for a more productive and effective team. Their previous clients include Warner Bros UK, Amazon UK and Bank of America, to name but a few.
