Brian Reed tour brings podcast production to audiences

The show, On Creating S-Town: A New Way To Tell A Story, is to debut in the UK in September.

“S-Town has unfolded with elegance and subtlety, and it’s hard to recall a more touching podcast.” – The Guardian newspaper

Brian Reed, the host and co-creator of the groundbreaking ‘S-Town’, is coming to the UK this Autumn for a very special tour that gives fans an opportunity to hear how the now legendary podcast was created. The three dates take in Manchester, London and Birmingham starting from 30th September.

‘S-Town’, from Serial Productions – the team behind ‘Serial’ and ‘This American Life’ – recently reached a new high-water
mark for the audio-show industry by some considerable distance! The seven-episode series closed its first month with over 40 million global downloads and achieved an unprecedented 16 million downloads within its first week alone.

Reed spent more than 3 years collating content for S-Town, which began when a man named John B. McLemore asked him to investigate an alleged murder in Woodstock, a small Alabama town. The series won widespread critical acclaim for elevating audio storytelling into the realm of great literary works, as it mesmerized audiences with the mysteries surrounding the life of a brilliant yet troubled man.

He has investigated multiple past FBI operations, as well as produced stories about many strange coincidences. Reed’s career in journalism has also helped an immigrant gain asylum in the U.S and prompted a government committee to interrogate the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

Part conversation, part Q and A, those attending will have the opportunity to ask Brian any burning questions and find out more about the intriguing world of S-Town.
