STV celebrate biggest ever BBC commission
STV has received its biggest ever commission from the BBC, the Scottish broadcaster and production company has announced.

The content arm, STV Productions, is to produce a further four series of long running hit show Antiques Road Trip for BBC One and a seventh series of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip for BBC Two.
Series fifteen to eighteen of Antiques Road Trip will comprise of eighty episodes in total. These 45-minute programmes are now in production and will air over two years. The series follows the country’s top antiques experts as they battle it out in a search for quirky and valuable antiques to auction off for profit, with all profit going to Children in Need. The experts pair up for a scenic road trip through the British countryside, visiting antiques shops and local areas of interest while exploring the country’s rich historical and cultural heritage.
STV Productions is also filming twenty new hour long episodes of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip with a brand new line-up of famous antique hunters featuring Ricky Tomlinson, Stephen Tompkinson, Hayley Mills, Pam Ayres, Brian Conley, Chesney Hawkes and Debbie McGee.
STV began as Scottish Television in 1957, one of the earliest of the Independent Television broadcasters and one of the few still broadcasting and producing programmes in 2017. Other long established ITV network broadcasters include UTV in Northern Ireland and Granada Television which operates under the branding of ITV Broadcasting.
Much loved STV productions include long running Glasgow based crime drama Taggart starring the late Mark McManus and soap opera High Road which ran from 1980 to 2003. The company continue to make network programming for the ITV network including game show Catchphrase.
Series fourteen of Antiques Road Trip, which aired in January 2017, reached over 16 million people across the UK. Antiques Road Trip remains the best watched show in the Hobbies / Leisure category on BBC One and is one of the channel’s most successful daytime programmes this year.
