Corrie’s Kym excited about Alison King return
Coronation Street star Kym Marsh is looking forward to Alison King re-joining the saga.
The actress who plays Michelle Connor expressed her delight at the development in her latest column for OK!.
“I’ve known for a while as Ali’s one of my best friends and we speak all the time – I can’t wait to have us back working together,” Kym wrote. “She’s really excited too! I haven’t seen her for a celebratory drink yet but I’m sure we’ll get together when I’m back from holiday.
“When you have young children you realise how great a place Corrie is to work. You’re acting, doing a job you love, but you’re still only down the road from home and able to do the school run on some days – Ali and I both appreciate that.”
It was announced earlier this month that King had been lured back to the soap. Her character, Carla Connor, previously featured between 2006-2016 and was involved in a string of high-profile storylines in that time.
Corrie chief Kate Oates has teased that Carla and Michelle will clash when Carla makes her return to the cobbles.
“It’s time to break new ground with Carla. I didn’t want to put her on that familiar cycle of self-destruction, recovery, followed by more self-destruction. What we’ll have instead are these two strong Connor women – Carla and Michelle – on opposing sides and in conflict for a change. It’ll be a refreshing dynamic for us to see.” – Kate Oates
