Brian Conley voted out of Strictly Come Dancing

The comedian exited the competiton this weekend.

Brian and his partner Amy Dowden found themselves in the dance off alongside Sunday Brunch‘s Simon Rimmer and his partner Karen Clifton after the judges’ scores were combined with the results of the viewers’ votes.

Each couple performed their routine again; Brian and Amy did their Jive to Tom Jones’ It’s Not Unusual whilst Simon and Karen repeated their Charleston to Fit As A Fiddle (And Ready For Love) by Gene Kelly in a bid to impress the judges.

The judges – a three piece for one week only – then delivered their verdicts with Craig Revel Horwood and Darcey Bussell choosing to save Simon and Karen. Head Judge Shirley Ballas confirmed that she was in agreement with her colleagues.

“I have loved everything about this, I truly have. It’s one of the greatest shows, it’s a family show. And you know what, there has been someone by my side all the way through this journey who has been just there every moment and that is… Aston! I love him and I am really going to miss him (laughs).

“No I love this lady [Amy] and I want her to be on this show for ever and ever because I want everyone out there to know how special this lady is because she is a star and I love her to bits.” – Brian Conley

Amy added, “I have had the most amazing time, I’ve got not just Brian but his entire family as friends for life and thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Sunday’s Results show also featured a musical performance from The Script.

Strictly Come Dancing will return to BBC One next Saturday with its annual Halloween special.
