Maddy Hill lands Casualty role
Former EastEnders star Maddy Hill has landed a role in fellow beeb production Casualty.
The actress will be back on BBC One screens as paramedic Ruby in the medical saga’s 33rd series later this year.
“I’m incredibly excited to be working with the BBC again on Casualty,” she told The Sun “It’s such a well loved and respected show and the role of Ruby is like no one I’ve ever played before.”
Hill bowed out from the role of EastEnders‘ Nancy Carter in 2016 to pursue new projects. The character of Nancy proved popular with fans who voted the actress ‘Best Newcomer’ at the British Soap and National Television Awards.
Nancy’s storylines included a relationship with Tamwar Masood, finding out that her mum had been raped by her cousin and coping with epilepsy.
“We are so thrilled and excited about Maddy joining the cast of Casualty,” series producer Lucy Raffety said “She’s a fantastic actress with such warmth and fabulous range that we’re sure she’ll be a massive hit with our audience.”
