Telly Today Extra: Ruth Langsford and a naked gym
One to Watch: Do The Nude Gym Thing with Channel 5
“I’ll never look at an exercise bike in the same way again! Although I really enjoyed hanging out with the naked fitness enthusiasts, I’m not sure I’m ready yet to let it all hang out and regularly join the class. Visiting the gym is just one item in our new series Do The Right Thing which is a consumer entertainment show. We have a lot of fun, it’s about celebrating kindness, community, friendship, and love, so it has something for everybody, it has a lot of light and shade from start to finish.” – Ruth Langsford
Tonight (Thursday March 8th) Channel 5 launch a brand new consumer entertainment show Do The Right Thing with Eamonn and Ruth. This first edition sees Ruth Langsford experience the latest fitness craze at a Naked Gym. There are naturist parks, beaches and even hotels, but now you can get fit wearing only a smile.
With increasing numbers aware of the importance of exercise – regardless of age – and many spending a small fortune on gym memberships, a new trend suggests that for the best results, people should be exercising naked.
Do the Right Thing’s host Ruth took to the streets on this draughty new approach to fitness and hit the gym herself to test the theory.
“Also tonight, we’re also looking at the shocking injuries and even deaths of babies caused by the simple button batteries you find in toys and gadgets; we’ll be finding out why a council fined a business £300 for putting a cardboard box in a recycle bin, and I don’t think there will be a dry eye in the house when we reunite a family who haven’t seen each other for 60 years.” – Ruth Langsford
