Jim Regan joins STV as Head of Daytime and Popular Factual

STV plans further growth in the daytime and factual markets.

Glasgow based content business STV Productions has appointed Jim Regan as Head of Daytime and Popular Factual to support its ambitious plans for domestic and international growth.

In the newly-created role, Jim will focus on developing new, returning shows and overseeing returning hit series Antiques Road Trip and Celebrity Antiques Road Trip; last year the BBC commissioned series 15 -18 of the former and an eighth series of the latter.

Jim joins the team from Remedy Productions, where he was Head of Remedy Scotland, overseeing development projects and executive producing Fifteen to One for Channel 4. Prior to that, he was at FremantleMedia with a central role in the international team, tasked with creating successful entertainment and factual global brands.   

STV Productions is part of the STV broadcasting empire which includes STV2 which broadcasts across Scotland and STV Central and STV North which air across the country on the Channel 3 network, best known in the UK as the ITV service. STV remain the only original Independent Television company to be outside of the ITVplc company which has bought up most recently Northern Ireland’s UTV service.

STV is well known across the country for programmes such as Taggart and Rebus for ITV, And They’re Off…for Sport Relief for BBC One, Tree of the Year for Channel 4 and The Queen Mary: Greatest Ocean Liner, a documentary for BBC Scotland to name only a few.
