Disney Channel launch live-action ‘talking car’ children’s series
Production is underway on the new Disney Channel live-action limited series, Fast Layne the broadcaster has announced.
Fast Layne is described by Disney as ‘a fun-fuelled action-comedy’ and will star Sophie Pollono as Twelve-year-old over-achiever Layne.
Layne finds her orderly life thrown into a tailspin when she discovers a sophisticated talking car named “V.I.N.” hidden in an abandoned shed. With the help of her eccentric neighbour Zora, played by Sofia Rosinsky the pair embark on a high-speed adventure filled with bad guys, secret agents and other surprises to unlock the mystery behind V.I.N.’s creation.
Also starring in Fast Layne, are Brandon Rossel as Cody, a cute boy at Layne’s school with a talent for fixing cars, and Winslow Fegley as Mel, Layne’s nosy younger cousin who is determined to uncover her secret.
The show will be executive produced by Matt Dearborn and Tom Burkhard best known for Disney Channel’s Even Stevens, Zeke and Luther. The production has been created by Travis Braun whose other credits include Vampirina).
