Central and Eastern Europe format deals for ITV Studios Global Entertainment

ITV Studios Global Entertainment has secured two brand new territories for its hit format Four Weddings, as well as announcing recommissions for two of its other biggest shows, Hell’s Kitchen and The Chase.

“We see the CEE market as having huge potential and we are excited that Four Weddings is launching in two new territories there. These returnable shows are as popular as ever with viewers and our discussions with clients reflect that.” – Jennifer Ebell, SVP, Sales, EMEA at ITV Studios Global Entertainment

Four Weddings, which follows four different brides as they each judge each other’s big day, will launch on Polsat in Poland for a ten-part series which will broadcast in hour long slots and in Croatia on RTL for thirty episodes, again to air in hour-long formats.

ITV Studios note that the number of countries the format has reached is now well over the twenty mark. In Russia, new broadcaster Friday TV has also commissioned a series of the show for sixteen editions, five years after it last aired in the territory.

Friday TV has also recommissioned Hell’s Kitchen for a second series of seventeen episodes. Each will air in an hour long format, with Nova TV in Bulgaria doing the same however for forty-eight editions. The show, which sees a batch of aspiring restaurateurs compete against one another to win the crown and a place as Head Chef at a top restaurant, has also been produced in over 20 different territories.

Meanwhile The Chase – where four contestants attempt to stay ahead of The Chaser, one of the nation’s fiercest quiz brains, in order to win a prize pot of money – returns for a sixth series in Serbia on RTS 1 for 36 new editions and for a seventh series in Croatia on HRT for a staggering one hundred and fifty three episodes.

ITV Studios Global Entertainment is formed from several Independent Television sales and distribution companies, some of which date back to the earliest days of ITV in the 1950s. These include Granada International, ITC Entertainment, Central Enterprises and Carlton International.

The format of The Chase is proving popular with several other versions now in production.
